Job Description

Marcus & Millichap , the nation’s leader in commercial real estate investment sales, is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and tenacious Sales Recruiter to join its team to support recruiting efforts throughout the Midwest Division .

Our Recruiters partner closely with Senior Executives and Regional Managers to create market-specific talent acquisition plans and are on the front lines of building strong relationships with commercial real estate investment sales agents. As such, we’re able to measure our team’s direct impact on the revenue and future success of our organization with every hire.

It’s a highly-visible, consultative role within the firm – your sourcing, influencing, and closing skills will be fully realized and appreciated. As a team, we’re seeking a Sales Recruiter who will bring something special to the table and make us a stronger, better equipped team.

As a member of our team, you will be expected to hit the ground running, while learning and understanding the numerous internal divisions and their resource needs. Once you understand those needs, our team focus is to fill those needs with the top talent in the industry.

This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Sales Recruiting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the sales recruitment life cycle for the Midwest Division offices.
  • Develop and implement a position-specific targeted search strategy to source active and passive candidates.
  • Prepare recruitment advertising & postings that utilize the latest recruitment marketing concepts including social media and direct sourcing.
  • Review applicant resumes and pre-screen prospective candidates that meet the hiring criteria to gauge interest and share company mission as well as opportunity in each respective market.
  • Research potential candidate backgrounds to identify prospects to directly contact.
  • Build relationships with managers and directors to become a valued resource and trusted advisor to achieve business objectives.
  • Attend and present at career fairs, club meetings, an in classrooms at targeted universities/colleges to be an ambassador of the firm and maintain relationships with the Department Heads of their Real Estate/Finance programs.
  • Manage candidate contact with a strong emphasis on building long-term relationships.
  • Update candidate profiles in applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Compile and complete recruiting reports and other related activities.
  • Support company goals related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion with creative initiatives and recruiting programs.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years of sales recruiting experience working in a corporate (non-agency) recruiting environment, though agency experience is a plus. A mix of high-volume candidate processing and direct sourcing experience is preferred.
  • Commercial Real Estate investment sales or leasing brokerage experience is highly preferred.
  • Business acumen with strong organizational and verbal skills, a sense of urgency and a commitment to quality.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a high-volume of candidates, developing a sourcing strategy to attract quality candidates, properly assessing candidate qualifications, cultivating, and closing opportunities effectively. 
  • Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter, Lever (ATS), and other social recruiting platforms.
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Office 365 (SharePoint, OneNote, Teams, etc.) is a plus.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Reside within daily commuting distance of a Marcus & Millichap office as this is on-site.
