Mott Children's Hospital-Operating Room Internship
The Internship is a six (6) month operating room orientation program. By teaching the RN a wide range of skills and knowledge, the program prepares the intern for their new role as a perioperative nurse. The internship program is conducted in a classroom, laboratory, and patient care setting.Expectations of the position:
Ability to work with a non-responsive patient population
Demonstrated ability to handle stress, conflict, and resolution
Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as a team member
A two (2) year commitment with a minimum of 30 hours/week (0.75 FTE) to the CW Mott OR is required after successful completion of the OR internship program.
Anticipated start date September 2024
Current Michigan RN license
Must be able to meet the on-call commitment of a 30 minute response time
NOTE: In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment.

BSN
Operating Room experience.

Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C.
Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
Nursing Framework levels range from Level A to Level F.
Hours:40 hours/week
Shift: Day/Night Rotation with on-call and weekend/holiday obligations.

All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
