Required Education and Experience :High school graduate or equivalent required. Minimum three years medical terminology experience.

Preferred Education and Experience: Prefer Epic/Athena (IDX) experience. Proficient in MS Word, Excel and related applications. Understand different Dragon user. Documentation styles with ability to train users and troubleshoot issues. Advanced coursework in management and/or human relations

Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient medical terminology in multiple specialties. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with physicians and staff. Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision, with the ability to exercise judgement and discretion.

Summary/Objective

To assist with the accuracy of a complete and comprehensive EHR record. By providing providers an alternative way to document a patient visit and monitoring the timely follow-up on patient chart related items.

Essential Functions:

• System administrator for the Dragon system. Assists with training providers on Dragon and provides support. Monitors Dictation pool within the EHR and reports overdue dictation not transcribed in the allotted timeframe. Assists with the build of supporting documentation related to Dragon and EHR transcription.
• Manages and directs daily performance of assigned staff. Provides direction, discipline, and counseling to staff to ensure high moral and overall efficient operations. Promotes and directs a cost-effective, efficient operation.
• Provides system support to physicians and support staff to include retraining, problem identification and workflow review related to Dragon and EHR Transcription. Provides physician training, this will include site visits to multiple facilities.
• Through reporting monitors Open Encounters and delinquent documentation. Communicates to those that are delinquent, in preparation for notification and fining.
• Maintains the EHR system related to Dragon license and Auto-text updates. Also, Dragon commands within the EHR system.
• Creates dismissal letters at provider request and performs certified mail process through to completion. Creates clinic wide dismissal letters per request of Risk Management. Completes certified mail process for any provider generated letters. Acts upon Request for Amendment to patient records and forwards appropriately to the Office of Compliance.
• Responsible for the testing and implementation plan for all upgrades related to Dragon and the EHR. Assists with the upgrade testing for those systems interfaced with the EHR.
• Provide support to Clinical Informatics Director and Assistant Director on special projects at request.
• Assists in establishing clinic-wide policies and procedures for monitoring compliance of the system, understanding laws related to an electronic medical record
