Secretary/Bookkeeper

Position Description – Full Time

JOB TITLE: Alabama Lions Sight (ALS) Bookkeeper/ Secretary -Full Time

REPORT TO: Alabama Lions Sight Executive Director

PURPOSE OF JOB: Manage bookkeeping of accounts and programs in QuickBooks, run reports, payroll, payroll taxes plus W-2”s, supply receipts for annual audits. Secretarial skills for ALS, QuickBooks reports and financials.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Serve as bookkeeper of Alabama Lions Sight in managing accounts for non-profit programs.

· Record keeping and staying update and certified in software programs.

· Run payroll, payroll taxes, W-2’s and receipts and records for outside annual audit for program

· Secretarial skills for ALS Board of Directors quarterly meetings and Convention

· Financials for the ALS programs

· Input data for the ALS and adhere to the Constitution and Bylaws for ALS

QUALIFICATIONS:

Intuit QuickBooks Certified

Microsoft Office understanding

Degree in accounting or experience of minimum of two years of working in accounting, business administration. Must be computer literate with a basic working knowledge of computer hardware and software including current word processing, spreadsheet, and database; must have basic knowledge of usual office equipment. Must have proficient knowledge of QuickBooks for financial record keeping, reports, taxes, and payroll. Must have knowledge of non-profit operations.

Interpersonal skills necessary to relate to a diverse range of people, and cultural backgrounds. Learn and adhere to the protocols of Lions for conventions. Must be amenable to becoming a member of the Lions Club

May occasionally work outside of office and travel for meetings and conventions, keep regular office hours at office located in UAB Callahan Eye Hospital in Birmingham, AL.

SALARY/HOURS: $17.00 - $19.00 depending on experience. 40 hour work week, Health Insurance reimbursement, parking, club dues, travel expenses for meetings and conventions.
