Job Description

Our obsession with quality is part of the passion here at Fresh Baguette. Take, for example, the process of making our signature baguettes: a cold-dough process that produces unique flavors, homemade “levain”, and made using state-of-the-art equipment imported from France. The end result is a baguette that is authentic with moisture and just the right crunch. In addition, it takes two days, 11 steps, carefully selected ingredients, and the skill of a pastry chef to make our soft and flaky, mouthwateringly tender croissant.

Job Description

We are looking to fill entry-level positions in our Bread Baking and Croissant departments in our Fresh Baguette Germantown, MD . You will receive proper training from our professional bakers who know the ins and outs of handcrafting high-quality artisanal organic breads. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our ever-growing bakery! 

 

You do not need previous experience in the baking industry, just strong motivation and the ability to work on your feet for extended periods. 

 

As a Full-Time Baker , you will be responsible for:

  • Working in a team environment to follow recipes and standard operating procedures
  • Maintaining tools and personal hygiene to ensure food safety and quality standards
  • Preparing flour and other ingredients by hand or assisted with commercial bakery equipment
  • Shaping dough to bake different types of bread or croissants
  • Operating commercial bakery equipment such as commercial ovens, loaders, dough mixers, proofers
  • Working quickly to ensure production targets are met

Hours
For this position, you must have open scheduling availability to work any day of the week

  • 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM
  • 5 days a week including Saturday and Sunday

Requirements

  • Open availability to work any day of the week
  • Reliable transportation to work
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Able to work in a standing position for 8+ hours shifts
  • Physical endurance to meet the demands of the business
  • Reading, writing, speaking, listening comprehension proficiency in English
